It can cut high-quality non-metal materials such as wood, acrylic, pp, and organic glass, but the photoelectric conversion rate of CO2 lasers is only about 10%.

It is suitable for precision machining, especially hole machining under pulse. It can also be used for cutting, welding and lithography. The wavelength of the YAG solid-state laser cutting machine laser is not easily absorbed by non-metals, so non-metallic materials cannot be cut. What the YAG solid-state laser cutting machine needs to solve is to improve the stability and life of the power supply, that is, to develop a large-capacity, long-life optical pump Excitation light sources, such as the use of semiconductor light pumps, can greatly increase energy efficiency.
